Roofed and walled permanent structures.

Description

Public house, formerly the Lion Hotel. Probably of brick, rendered throughout, with a flat roof. Streamlined Art Deco style. Central circular tower with a fin rising through the centre, flanked by ribbed piers. Blocky entrance with a C20 or C21 canopy. The sides are curved with continuous narrow window strips on each side of the tower. Windows at ground-floor level with C20 or C2I additions. Sides and rear more simply treated, with rounded corners. Despite the loss of original windows and some additions, a very striking design.
