A three-storey brick building with a pitched slate roof. There is a 20th-century shop front on the ground floor. The windows on the first and second floor have stone sills and brick lintels, and all retain historic sliding sash windows. The building includes a gated entry to back yard, and timber detail beside windows.
The building is shown on the 1835 tithe map in the rectangular plot 154 on the east side of the street. The apportionment lists the property as a house and garden occupied by Thomas Balshaw and owned by the Devisees of John Ardern, Earl of Stamford.
