The building is likely to be one of the earliest houses in the locale. It is possibly a building identified as ‘house and garden’ on the Hale tithe map of c. 1842, and is shown on the Ordnance Survey 1st Edition 1:2500 map of 1877. A double-fronted, two-storey dwelling with a pitched and slated roof. Chimney breasts are set against the internal elevation of both gable walls. Identified as a Positive Contributor to the South Hale Conservation Area.
