Description

A railway bridge at Hendra is in fact two bridges - the original bridge is the eastern one, and carried the Treffry tramway of 1849 to Hendra clay works. The western bridge carried the Cornwall Minerals Railway of 1874 from St Dennis Junction to Drinnick Mill over the public road. (HER No. 27009.02). The road passes underneath both bridges through a granite-walled tunnel. The bridge and the flag carved into it for VE Day have been nominated for inclusion in the CLHL as a result of community consultation.
