Description

A three-storey commercial building on the corner of Church Street and Fore Street in St Austell (HER No. MCO58489). Depicted on the late 1800s Town Map as three separate properties, and on the 1930s OS mapping as two, the ground floor (and perhaps also the upper floors) are now all one, currently in use as a café (Tengo!). The ground floor consists of a modern concrete and glass; the rest of the frontage is painted brick. Since the 1930s the building has been extended at the rear to fill a courtyard that previous existed. Identified in the St Austell THI survey as Possible Locally Significant Building depending on further research.
