The main building is constructed in 5 bays with wide central bay set back to first floor. Ground floor extends beyond the main building and around each side elevation to create single storey flat roof extensions contemporary with the building. The extension to the north side retains original tall slim arched windows with stone dressings and a central secondary entrance. The south side extension has a modern pitched canopy to provide a covered entrance to the family room. The main entrance to the centre of the main elevation has been remodelled to provide a single height glass fronted section with a Westmorland slate roof to match the main roof. Original roof dormer removed at time unknown and covered with slate to match existing.

The red brick panelled walls fronting Dickson Road date from late 19th century which enclosed a former bowling green on the site of the existing car park.

Landmark Status

Sited at the junction of a busy road on a major roundabout gives the building landmark qualities.
