Description

Two storey substantial late Victorian villa constructed as the vicarage for the adjacent St. Paul’s Church. Built from hard red brick with stone dressings. Three bays to main elevation. First bay has hipped slate roof whilst third bay has slate roof with gable to right hand return. Central round arched entrance with keystone and shallow pilasters flanked by a square stone bay window to the left and a canted stone bay window to the right, each with coped castellated parapet. Moulded string course. Single central window to the first floor flanked by a pair of windows. Simpler treatments to side elevations. The building is set back from the footway in a slightly elevated position and shares a low stone boundary wall with the adjacent worship centre which continues around the whole of the original church site and is probably contemporary with the 1899 main church constructed from the same material.
