Roofed and walled permanent structures.

Description

Red brick with buff terracotta and stone dressings. Free Gothic style with Geometrical window tracery. Fine polychromatic north-west tower and tall brick spire with gabled traceried openings at the base. Central entrance framed by pinnacles, further entrances on each side to the galleries, all with traceried overlights. Tripartite west window. The sides have ranges of gabled half-dormers. Interior not accessible but reported to contain original furnishings including three galleries, box pews and a central pulpit. Curtilage with original walls and gatepiers.

Architectural and Artistic Interest

Former Methodist Church by Mr Kelvin of Preston. Although the style is conservative for the date, the church is an elaborate example of its type with strong architectural coherence.
