Statement of Significance

Age

Designed in 1925. The club was established at this time, and the clubhouse was completed in 1935.

Architectural and Artistic Interest

The 101 acre golf course (including extension east of East Park Drive) was designed by internationally renowned golf course designers Messrs Colt and Mackenzie. The course was part of the Mawson’s design scheme and takes advantage of natural undulations in the landscape. Some of the park buildings were designed by the Council’s own architects, and stylistically the clubhouse is possibly by JC Robinson of the Borough Surveyor’s department.
