Description

Roman Catholic School associated with Sacred Heart Church. Of stone, Gothic/Elizabethan style. Two tall storeys with a gabled range to the right with a cartouche against a carved ground in the gable with the date and the words ‘CATHOLIC SCHOOLS’. Three upper windows with ogee heads with richly carved foliage and poppyhead finials. Lower windows have shallow ogee heads and there are blind ogee panels between the storeys. Offset gabled porch with a poppyhead finial, carving in the gable, and an arched doorway. Range to the left with large mullioned and transomed windows has ballflower detail in the cornice and miniature ogee arcading over the lower window. Simpler side elevation with large mullioned and transomed windows and a mid gable.
