Roofed and walled permanent structures.

Description

Tram stop shelter, now public toilets. Single storey, symmetrical, with a deep hipped roof and central timber clock tower with copper roof. Brick construction, three bays wide divided by brick pilasters, with segmental-arch entrances to the east and west on the main elevation, now filled, and three modern doorways in the central bay. Rendered cornice.

Historic Interest

The shelter was built to serve the tramway which ran from Blackpool to Bispham but was taken out of service in 1936. Before its construction the shelter was located on the Layton Square island (to the north).
