Description

Late nineteenth century former school, built in1895. The former school that served the area, educating the children of the furniture workers and later the first school at which the children of Wycombe's new Afro-Caribbean and then Asian communities were educated from the late 1950s onwards. It was designed by C E Moxham for the former Wycombe Education Board and the foundation stone laid in December 1895. It is designed in the Dutch influenced style popular for schools at that time and is a key building in the proposed conservation area. A significant building within the Leigh Street Furniture Heritage Conservation Area (B1).
