The headstone is carved with depictions of cricket stumps and bats with the epitaph ‘Bowled at last’.

White marble headstone to Richard ‘Dick’ Barlow (b.1851), a prominent test cricketer, who died on 31st July 1919. The inscription notes that until that date no other cricketer had had such a successive career, including playing for Lancashire and England and being an umpire. Barlow was also immortalised in the poem ‘At Lords’ by Francis Thompson.
