LLB135 - Large, brick, timber and stone former farm buildings. One wing has ground floor in stone with brick above. Other buildings are brick. Retain something of their rural form and appearance, but additional openings have been added and the use and surrounding context has changed. UPVC windows and doors to new openings.

Group Value

The buildings together have some value as a former farmstead. The linked pub is a Grade 2 Listed Building.

Historic Interest

Part of the eastern range (including the Listed structure) is an original barn, which is present on the 1845 map of the area. Evidence of the original buildings of Skelmersdale, and its rural heritage before the development of the New Town.

Landmark Status

Inextricably linked to the pub due to its location – this is a well-used informal meeting place in the local area.
