Architectural and Artistic Interest

Decorative timber frame detailing with harled infill and brick string course under old tile roof. Modern windows, imposing pair of tall diamond set decorative chimneys appear to have been rebuilt. Multiple gables and gabled dormer with hung decorative tiles in gable ends. Rear elevations (later additions) all in brick or hung tile.

Historic Interest

The building is sited on an area that once formed the kitchen Gardens for an earlier Dashwood manor at Halton. It is likely that the decorative timber framing and harling are a Rothschilds face lift of the older parts of the building following their acquisition and building of the New Halton Hall in the late 19th C
