Description

Eighteenth century or earlier former workhouse, now a house Building was the original parish workhouse and predates the Rothschild estate. Two storey rendered building orientated gable onto the High Street. Rectangular in form with single storey lean-to extension to rear with small two storey element. Brick end stack. Although principal elevation is largely screened from view, building appears to retain original fenestration pattern. Has been identified as being of local note because it is one of a small number of pre-19th century buildings surviving within the village. A Local Building of Note within the Conservation Area (B1).
