Early twentieth century Rothschild Estate building.
Two storey buildings set back from the road and linked to and forming part of a group with nos. 110 and 114, High Street. Ground floor of building is rendered with inscribed patterns. First floor building hung with decorative wall tiles. Building sits beneath relatively steeply pitched slate roof, the ridgeline of which is interrupted by a brick chimney stack and articulated with decorative ridge tiles. Symmetrical elevation arranged around a centrally positioned door contained beneath an open porch. Central doorway flanked by ground floor canted bay windows contained arch headed sashes. Two further arched headed sashes at first floor level, one positioned above each ground floor canted bay. Positioned at first floor level directly above the entrance porch is Rothschild plaque. This is a particularly charming building that retains a significant proportion of its original external features and maintains the oxblood red and cream Rothschild colour scheme. At the time of writing, [December 2013] the building is showing evidence of disrepair. Architect – William Taylor. A Local Building of Note within the Conservation Area (B1).
