All heritage asset types including buildings, structures monuments, including archaeological sites, places, areas, parks, gardens and designed landscapes may be considered for inclusion.

Examples include but are not limited to boundary walls, street furniture, war memorials, statues, headstones, tombs, earthworks, cropmarks, village greens, public art or sculpture, as well as the more obvious examples of buildings.

Assets are grouped into four broad categories for the purpose of assessment:
