How will Nominations be assessed?

Once nominations have been received there will be a period of public consultation, to call for more information on the nominated assets. Candidates will then be assessed against the criteria for Local Heritage Listing. This assessment will be by a panel including Conservation Officers and South Yorkshire Archaeology Service staff, representing the 4 Local Planning Authorities, and relevant experts from the fields of historic buildings and architecture, designed landscapes, and archaeology. The decisions of the panel will then need to be formally ratified by each of the Local Planning Authorities. If a nomination is accepted, the asset will be added to the Local List of Heritage Assets.

If a nomination is not accepted, the reason why will be given; if new information about that asset becomes available, it will be eligible for re-submission for future consideration.
