As a result, the park and all its associated features has been included in the current Local Heritage List for South Yorkshire. The large stone villa, is Listed Grade II and was built in 1883 by Major Blake, a builder, for himself. The garden presumably was laid out at the same time. The property was bought in 1933 by nuns for use as a convent and school and this use continues today. The gardens originally extended to 6 acres but parts were sold for house building in the 1930s and 1970s. Parts of the boundary wall remain: high stone capped brick or low stone, as on either side of the entrance gates. Close to the house the planting is dense on both sides, opening out to an area of tarmac, lawns, narrow shrub border and circular rockery in front of the house. South and east of the house are sloping lawns around a modern playground, with specimen trees and woodland along the boundary, containing remnants of old paths and stone steps. There was once a pond in this area but no trace of it remains. The former orchard is now lawn sloping up to the 3 metre brick wall of the kitchen garden which is also lawned. There is an arched entrance to it from the house. A secondary access drive from Millhouses Lane divides the kitchen garden from the former stables with walled and cobbled courtyard. To the north of the house a path leads to Wood holm Road past car parking, play areas and prefabricated buildings. Beyond to the east is a rockery with a statue and a group of mature trees Sheffield Directorate of Planning and Economic Development, 1997, Sheffield's Historic Parks and Gardens (Unpublished document).
