Description
Though Limestone Hill Farm is Grade II listed, the mill itself is not listed, as it is not considered to be part of the model farm. It represents one of only four water-powered corn mills in the county however and is considered to be of great historic significance for the local area.
The mill comprises a three-storey limestone structure with a metal breastshot waterwheel externally, in situ in the mill race, which has silted up. Believed to date to c.1800. It has a double pitched pantile roof, and exhibits significant survival of interior fixtures and fittings associated with its use as a mill, as well as numerous carvings and historic graffiti.
