What is happening in Lincolnshire?

The Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities made funds available to twenty two areas across England, including Lincolnshire as part of a national initiative to extend, improve or prepare a Local List of Heritage Assets.

The project has support of all Local Authorities in the county and is being delivered by Heritage Lincolnshire in partnership with Lincolnshire County Council.

Across the county there has been mixed use of Local Listing to date, with three areas having either a Local List or Selection Criteria of some form. Outside of these areas, there has been no `Local Listing` however non-designated heritage assets have been identified in documents such as Conservation Area Appraisals or Neighbourhood Plans.

The project in Lincolnshire aims to establish a unified approach and framework to Local Listing where applicable across the county, and then to test the new framework through engagement with the public and local communities and groups to put forward nominations for Local Listing.
