Assessment Round 9 Underway

We were pleased to announce earlier this year that the 4 South Yorkshire local authorities found funding to maintain the Local Heritage List website up to March 2025, which means that the nomination process is still open and we have the next round of candidates ready for you to see!

In Barnsley we have the excellent former Mining and Technical Institute - a beautiful building that serves as a prominent reminder of the town's mining legacy.

In Doncaster we have two pubs from the city centre: the Mason's Arms and Olde Castle Hotel. Both are returning candidates having received some new information.

In Sheffield we have a range of nominations demonstrating the variety of what people in the district value, including: the offices of the former Newton Chambers works, Dore and Totley Station; the remains of a rifle range in Wadsley, a rare survival of a David Mellor litter bin near Oughtibridge, Knowle House on Norfolk Park Road, and the remains of the former Brightside and Carbook Co-op store in Attercliffe.

Consultation for this round ends on the 27th May 2024, so let us know if you have any comments.

We will keep you posted as this round progresses - but for now, keep those nominations coming in!
